Our Story

In the depths of adversity, exclusion and doubt Light Up Burn Out’s light was kindled. In 2023, amidst severe burnout and the challenges of being a disabled job seeker, our founder Sorcha discovered a defiant spark within herself. Refusing to succumb to the darkness, she lit a candle, practised mindfulness and ultimately decided to look within herself to find a pathway forward. This act of rebellion against self-doubt marked the beginning of Light Up Burn Out.

It’s why we see Light Up Burn Outas more than a candle brand; it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a symbol of the calm that can be found amidst the chaos, and a reminder that there is always light, even in the darkest corners. Each candle we create carries Sorcha’s spirit, embodying resilience, mindfulness, and empowerment. Our products are not just about illuminating spaces; they’re about inspiring moments of pause and reflection in a world that sometimes feels like it’s working against you.

Our mission is ambitious: to illuminate every corner of society, ensuring no one is left in the dark. We champion a world where wellness is universally embraced, where moments of mindfulness are a daily practice, and where every individual, regardless of their journey, can find solace and strength in the simple act of lighting a candle.

It’s why we are proud to shine brighter by giving back and dedicating a portion of every sale to Sanctuary in Chichester.

Join us in creating a sanctuary for the seekers, the dreamers and the misfits—uniting those who dare to light up rather than burn out.
